Privacy Policy
Sezon — motorcycle companion app for iOS · Effective date: 3 August 2026
1. Who we are
Sezon (“the App”, “we”) is an independently developed app operated from Warsaw, Poland (“the Controller”). For anything related to your personal data, contact us at support@sezonmoto.com.
This policy describes what data the App processes, why, and what rights you have. It is written to reflect what the App actually does — nothing more, nothing less.
2. The short version
- The App works offline-first. Your garage, maintenance records, expenses and ride history live in a local database on your device and are synced to our servers so you don't lose them and can use them across devices.
- Ride recording starts only manually — the App never records your location in the background without you starting a ride.
- Before a recorded track is uploaded to our servers, its start and end are trimmed by approximately 500 m on the device, so the exact locations of places like your home never leave your phone. You can adjust this radius in Settings → Privacy.
- GPS coordinates are never sent to analytics. Analytics is anonymous, hosted in the EU, and can be switched off entirely in Settings → Privacy.
- Deleting your account permanently deletes all your data from our servers, including uploaded files.
3. Data we process
3.1 Account data
Email address and authentication identifiers (Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or email/password), plus your profile: nickname, optional avatar, country, and app settings synced to your account. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
3.2 Garage and maintenance data
Motorcycles you add, odometer readings, maintenance items and service logs, expenses, fuel records, documents and gear you attach. This is the content you create to use the App. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
3.3 Rides and location data
- Ride tracks. When you manually start recording, the App records GPS coordinates, speed, altitude and motion data. The full track is stored locally on your device; the copy uploaded to our servers is trimmed near its start and end points as described above. A weather snapshot (temperature, conditions, wind) at the finish location is attached to the ride.
- Photos. You can attach photos to rides manually. They are stored with the ride.
- Live location sharing. During group rides and paired (“duo”) rides, your current position is shared in real time with the specific riders you chose to ride with, for the duration of the session only.
- Community road markers. If you place a hazard or help marker, its location is shared with nearby riders. Markers expire automatically.
- Leaderboards and game. Aggregated ride statistics (distance, count — never speed) may appear in leaderboards; you can opt out in Settings → Privacy.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) for recording and sync; your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for live sharing, markers and leaderboards, withdrawable at any time.
3.4 Medical card (special category data)
You can optionally fill in an in-case-of-emergency (ICE) medical card: blood type, allergies, medication, emergency contact. This is health data under Art. 9 GDPR. We process it only with your explicit consent, given when you fill in the card. It exists so that it can be shown on your lock screen QR code and, if you enable it, to riders responding to your help signal. You can delete it at any time in Settings; deletion removes it from our servers. Legal basis: explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)).
3.5 Social features
Friendships, groups you join or create, group event chat messages, and your public profile card (nickname, avatar, level, season statistics — visibility configurable in Settings → Privacy). Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
3.6 Diagnostics and analytics
- Crash reports (EU-hosted service): technical crash data — device model, OS version, stack traces. No coordinates, no ride content.
- Product analytics (EU-hosted service): anonymous usage events such as “ride started” or “subscription screen shown”. GPS coordinates and personal identifiers are never included. You can disable analytics completely in Settings → Privacy.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the App working and improving it (Art. 6(1)(f)); objection = the opt-out toggle.
3.7 Purchases
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. We receive only an anonymized receipt confirming your subscription status.
4. Processors and third parties
We use a small number of service providers to run the App. By category:
- Cloud infrastructure — database, authentication, file storage and sync (hosted in the EU);
- Apple platform services — Sign in with Apple, weather data, push notifications, App Store payments;
- Sign-in provider — only if you choose a third-party sign-in option;
- Map and navigation provider — map tile requests include the approximate area you are viewing;
- Crash reporting service (EU-hosted);
- Anonymous product analytics service (EU-hosted).
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. There is no advertising in the App.
Where a processor is located outside the EEA, transfers are protected by an adequacy decision, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Retention
- Your data is kept for as long as your account exists.
- Deleting your account (Settings → Account → Delete account) permanently removes all your data from our servers — database records and uploaded files — and cannot be undone. Local data on your device is removed with the App.
- Community markers expire automatically after a period depending on their category.
- Crash and analytics data is retained by Sentry/PostHog for at most 12 months.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to withdraw consent at any time. Most of these you can exercise directly in the App (edit profile, privacy toggles, delete account). For anything else, email support@sezonmoto.com — we respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO, uodo.gov.pl), or the authority of your country of residence.
7. Children
The App is not directed at children and requires users to be at least 16 years old.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date, and notify you in the App when changes are material. Material changes affecting consent-based processing will ask for your consent again.
